Abstract

This article presents the results of applying a fractal modified genetic algorithm for encoding high-definition images. Dependences of the compression ratio on the sizes of rank blocks and the signal-to-noise ratio are obtained depending on the mean square deviation of the average brightness of the compared blocks. A structure for constructing the code and the bit depth of individual fields is proposed. The time spent on encoding and decoding the image has been calculated.
