Abstract

In this paper the wave regimes in a medium with oscillating inclusions were studied. The medium is considered as the set of mutually penetrated continua, one of which manifests the nonlinear and spatially nonlocal properties. When the weak nonlinear case is considered via the method of multiple scales, we constructed the solution describing the propagation of quasiharmonic wave packet. Solution’s amplitude satisfies the nonlinear Schrodinger equation supporting to study the modulational instability of wave packets depending on the parameter of spatial nonlocality of medium.
