Abstract

The influence of the shape of a rigid inclusion on its plastic exfoliation under anti-plane deformation conditions was studied. It is assumed that the material of the main environment is perfectly elastic-plastic. The problem of exfoliation of an inclusion bounded on the sides by two cylindrical surfaces of the same curvature intersecting at an arbitrary angle is solved. Plastic deformations are localized at the inclusion-surrounding boundary and develop from inclusion peaks along surfaces previously adhesively connected to the environment. The conditions of plasticity are achieved only in the bands of interphase delamination. The stress function was determined and the dependence of the lengths of the interfacial plastic bands on the load value was established. The exfoliation of the studied inclusion is compared with the exfoliation of a rhombic inclusion with the same angle in one pair of opposite vertices. The influence of the shape of the inclusions on the dimensions of the exfoliated surface was analyzed.
